Originally from Quebec, Jannick Deslauriers is a Montreal-based textile artist who creates life-size sculptural installations. She often works with materials such as wires, tulle, silk, and aluminum mesh, to portray a feeling of decay, ephemerality of objects. Deslauriers is primarily influenced by the collective memory, oftentimes creating sculptures of objects that are universally known.
Her sculptural works are in the collections of the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, but has also participated in group exhibitions in the United States, Germany, Switzerland, France, and many more. Deslauriers earned a BFA from Concordia University, then in 2022 completed an MFA in sculpture at the Yale School of Art in Connecticut, where she received the Outstanding Student in Sculpture award.
