Marta Valledor graduated in Creation and Design from the University of the Basque Country in 2018, later she completed a master’s degree in printmaking at The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Wroclaw, Poland
(2019).

Participant in the first edition of the “Casyc Crea” residency with the Caja Cantabria Foundation, she has also worked on different collective and individual projects such as “IMPACT 10 Santander”, “Project 20/20. Frontera 40”, as well as in the eighth edition of ART NOU in Barcelona.

Marta Valledor’s practice is based on emotions, feelings and personal experiences as ways of accessing intimacy. Throughout her work, Marta explores different ways of being and living, and the feelings associated with these experiences. The conception of
the world derived from artistic thought and the relationships established in such processes push her work to continue immersing herself in her own interior.

Her main interest focuses on the investigation of drawing as a daily exercise in which figuration disappears, giving way and importance to the freshness housed in the speed of the gesture. Marta Valledor’s drawings are strong, expressive and direct. They play with irony, humor or discomfort, where simplicity reveals the strength from which they have been created.
