Fausto Amundarain is a designer and plastic artist who is originally from Caracas, Venezuela. From a young age he showed a strong interest in painting and drawing, leading him to take workshops in the Museum of Contemporary Art and Museum of Fine Arts in his home city. Nurturing his love of art, Amundarain pursued an education in the arts in Caracas, continuing it in New York, landing in Madrid where he now lives and works.
Initially, Amundarain’s work divulges with his identity, reflected in children’s icons through different images related to comics and their stimulus of interpretation as a kind of reflective process. In the majority of works he has created, there is a strong presence of the city and the passage of time in the elements of recognition of culture and mass consumption. There’s a strong connection in his work between elements of modernized pop culture and comics, mixing it with his own interests of silkscreening, graphic elements, animated works, etc. Amundarain has completed solo exhibitions in Marbella, Madrid, Maracaibo, and Mallorca, while also participating in group exhibitions and fairs in Luxembourg, Miami, and Caracas.
